Vera Otdelnova

Vera Otdelnova studied art history at the Moscow Academic Institute named after V.I. Surikov and continued her education as a Ph.D. student at the State Institute for Art Studies in Moscow. Her forthcoming doctoral thesis examines the history of the Moscow Union of Artists in the 1960s and 70s. In her publications, Otdelnova analyses different aspects of work of the Moscow Union of Artists, such as the policy of making exhibitions and censorship, art selling, and state commission for art, theories, and ideas about art in the late Soviet period.
Currently, she is working on a book dedicated to Economics of arts in the USSR.
